November Homework Strategies for S1 Band:  Throughout the month of November S1 band will be working on more advanced rhythm patterns that include syncopation exercises in the Blue Book.  Your concert band music will also have some syncopations.  Be certain to always have two sealed reeds at all times.  You should also check to see that your instrument is in good working order.  If playing a brass instrument time to give it a luke warm soapy bath.  If playing a woodwind instrument clean the mouthpiece in lukewarm soapy water with a teaspoon of javex.  November instrumental logs have now been distributed, remember to fill out the weekly questionaire in class when you are not playing.  S2-4 band will be completing rhythm pattern sheets including 12/8 time signatures.  It is also time for you to be checking that your instrument is clean and in good working order.  We have started working on our christmas music.  Practice the measures that give you the most struggle.
